Illustrating airplanes is a life-long habit for Matt. As a school kid, he filled school notebooks (intended for math, science, etc.) with sketch after sketch of airplanes and military hardware. A sizable portion of any money he earned ended up in model airplanes, which quickly filled up his bedroom. At age 15, he was spending that money on sailplane flying lessons.
